Wow!!!! She has come so far. We have now decided that she is the little girl with the curl in the middle of her forehead. When she is good, she is very, very good but when she is bad she is horrid. Things have settled a little more. Each day is better. Being here in Guangzhou is helping, we have the ability to walk around and feel comfortable. This city has soo many families coming through doing the exact same thing we are doing that the area right around the hotel caters to us adopting families.
David met us in the lobby at 10am. We walked up the street to a store and they took Kassie’s VISA photo. She was in her new pink and white striped dress (thanks MeMa) and perfect pink & white ribbon clips (thanks Kelly, Sophia and Chloe). Her picture is too cute. Then off for her medical, height, weight, eyes, ears, etc. Basic stuff. She is smaller than we thought. Her paperwork from June indicated she was 32 lbs. (approximately) so we assumed she would have gained maybe another pound. We brought some 3T and 4T clothes just in case. Good plan….the 4T clothing mostly is too big. The 3T stuff seems perfect.
After the medical, one representative from each family sat with David in the lobby and we did paperwork for Monday’s consulate appointment. We are done with all that now so we do the same thing we’ve done…..wait. Bill and Chris were tooling around the hotel and apparently the “queen” was waving and saying “HI” to everyone and singing. Being the adorable Kassie Fu we are coming to see.
Ate a quick lunch down the street and came back to the hotel. It is HOT here. Almost 80 degrees. The pool sounded like a good plan.
Bill and Italo suited up and we brought Kassie’s new 
Talbot’s suit to the changing room by the pool. Bill went in….no Kassie. Chris sat on the side of the pool and practically went in….no Kassie. Italo sat on a lounge chair and enjoyed the heat. Chris and Kristin went into the changing room and put Kassie’s clothes back on and she attempted to bite Kristin and did get in some good scratches….and that’s the other Kassie. Off to the room for an overdue nap for all of us.
Two and a half hours later, we all felt better and more relaxed. Out to the streets for the browsing and some dinner. Kassie got her first souvenir…a stuffed ladybug with a little sweatshirt on. She loves it and clutches it and kisses it over and over. We do not think she had stuffed animals so she is going to go crazy when she gets home and sees her room.
Dinner was yummy. Some noodles and beef and some fried rice and finish with fruit. Kassie eats it all with gusto for all of us. She also has an adorable habit of taking a napkin and cleaning up her place. The problem is….everything goes on the floor. Watch out doodle dog….Emmy you are in for a wild ride. (PS…she sees dogs on the streets and is very excited by them so she will love Emmy.)
Then we walked around the streets and let Kassie pull the stroller. Bill picked up a Starbucks coffee and while waiting Kassie launched into a song and some locals were totally loving her. We asked what she was singing and they told us nothing…she was just making it up. We may give her a silver cup and start asking for tips to pay for some of the souvenirs we want to buy tomorrow. David is taking us shopping tomorrow…..YEAH!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing your adventures! We went to music with Thomas today and realized that music gets us out of lots of funks. Happy, sad, mad - singing whatever you see or any song you can think of when things get hairy. Singing in silly voices, funny faces are a good distraction too. Skidamarink is a good old standby! You all have great musical talent - keep singing!!

Kassie, Alexa and Bria are going to have a blast making up songs and dances. I'll have to buy a third microphone just for her! Get home already!!!
Sounds like things are getting a little bit better..bet you all can't wait to get home..I know I can't wait to see all of you, especially "Jeffery" !! Hope Kassie will enjoy the plane ride home. Keep on doing what you are doing and things will be fine. Miss all of you. Love you.
Hugs and Kisses from Brooklyn! (sort of). Mom doesn't have a computer and wanted me to write in for her. Aunt Rosanne says she loves you very much and is so excited to be able to share this journey with you. She calls me every day so I can read the blog to her. And guess what? Uncle Aldo was THRILLED to hear that Kassie's musical. He said you could probably start her on an instrument when she is 4! Some great times lay ahead. Music IS a universal language. :) They both want you to know that they love you and pray for you each night when they say the rosary. Much love to all of you!
