Surprise!!

Bill received an email from a woman who had followed our blog. She is a member of the Yahoo group we joined for families with children from Qidong (Kassie’s birth city in China). She is involved with a non-profit agency called Love without Boundaries (LWB). LWB works with children in China with disabilities to raise money to help repair such things as cleft lips, cleft palettes, etc. She read on our blog that Kassie had a blood vessel tumor on her tongue and remembered a child with the same ailment and referred us to a picture on the Yahoo Qidong website. She received them from LWB. Thinking it was worth a shot, maybe it was the same baby. IT IS KASSIE! The picture is from summer of 2007 so she is almost two but the eyes and lips are unmistakably Kassie. (We had been told while we were in China; this was the organization that was going to fix Kassie’s issue if she had not been adopted.)

See for yourself…..it’s our girl!

This is now the youngest picture we have of her. We have been told that sometimes they shave the heads of little girls so their hair will come in thicker. She seems to be close shaven in the picture and if any of you have seen the mop of hair Kassie has, I would say it came back thicker.

We have contacted LWB to see if possibly they have any additional pictures of Kassie. It’s worth a shot. If they do, we’ll post the pictures.

How great to have those precious photos of when she was younger. Did you look into her finding ad in the paper? I might still have the info on how to get it, it would be a photo of the day she was found depending on her age at that time. Both my girls were only a few days old in the photos.
She really seems to be adjusting so well, hope she enjoys getting her 1st Xmas tree! Darlene Hamilton (Eric Carcich friend from Penn)

Hi!
This is family Rudström from Sweden. We´ve been following your blog for the last months. . Thanks for sheering us your story.

We got our wonderful daughter, Elsa from Qidong SWI in March 2007. She was born in 16th of April 2005. We were 9 familys who went to Changsha and all of us got girls born in 2005 and rised at the SWI or in some fostercares.

After today, when you published the picture of your sweet little girl, we decided to contact you:-) We saw that picture of Kassie in may -07 when Love without boundaries sent their "monthly mail" to the members (inclusive us). Elsa and, I think it was, 3 of her "chinasisters" were in pictures too. The pictures were absolutely taken earlier than March-07, because we had Elsa in March. We´ve been told that they (LWB) took these pictures in the same time that they donated food etc to the SWI in December-06....

It´s possible that our girls lived together for almost 2 years:-)
