Less than 48 hours after the picc line was removed and she was off her antibiotics, it was like a bad dream. Kassie Fu spiked a 104.0 degree fever, was lethargic and acting as she did before the first hospitalization. Back to the ER, back through the testing and again admitted to the hospital. This time our stay was 13 days. Another drain, another picc line, more doctors, more specialists and still no answers. Docs could tell us they were 99% sure she came from China with the abscess but could not tell us WHY. She stayed on IV antibiotics for almost 4 weeks this time for a total of 6 ½ weeks on IV antibiotics.
